19th April 2003 Windsurfing: Ynyslas Estuary Wind Direction: NE Wind Stength: 20-35MPH Surf / Sea State: Choppy Air Temperature: 8 Sea Temperature: 8 Weather: Sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Easter Saturday Arrived at Borth on Friday to a distinct lack of water, but reasonable winds, so when Saturday arrived with lots of wind and water I was keen to get going (even if a little daunted by the ability of the others guys on the water....Bad, you are not so bad!) Rigged the 4.2 and the (borrowed) F2 Ride and set out into the uncharted waters. Generally sailed OK, but found the board and conditions a bit of a challenge especially as I was keen to stay in the shallower water as much as possible (when you sail in Poole and Portland this is never an issue!) Bearing in mind this was only my second go on a real short board I got some good runs in and found the straps were much easier to get into than I expected. Reasonable day, marred by lack of confidence! |
